September: the world of new notebooks and pens. Backpacks and #2 pencils. Erasers. Lots of erasers!
And yes it's early but I couldn't wait:
As soon as I drop my son off at school for his junior year, I'll start putting out the orange. I admit to bringing home a white pumpkin from Michael's the other day. It sat on the table for a while. Others decorate beautifully with white pumpkins. But I can't seem to make the leap. So back to Michael's it went.
I'm sticking with orange and yellow for fall. Tree colors here in Virginia.
And baking! Oh I love me some baking; today I'm making a pound cake for a friend and I can't wait. Cheating with a mix this time, but I have found a family recipe for pound cake and plan to make that soon. Will share the recipe with you then. Meanwhile: measure ... stir ... bake.
Are you ready for fall? Or are you like my friend Donna, who groans at the end of summer?

I'm more like your friend who groans at the end of summer. I love summer! I won't decorate for fall until it's officially fall. ;-)
