Learning Curve

UPDATE: After many trials and failures, I've finally got my blog banner to look pretty good - not perfect, but a working header!

I've been blogging off and on for three or four years, and there are still so many things I can't figure out.

Like the blog header above. The picture on the far right is cut off. So frustrating!

I started editing in Picmonkey - couldn't get it to save anything I worked on. Finally gave up and moved to something called Foto Flex. That's where I ended up with this banner.

Last week it was my camera. I couldn't figure out how to transfer pictures from the camera to the computer. Had to wait for hubby to find time to help me do that.

And speaking of the camera - it's a nice camera, a Nikon D3300 (mine's black), but I can't use all the upgrade features. The kind man at the camera shop said to come in first thing one morning and he'd start teaching me about aperture, lighting ... things like that.

I still haven't gotten there. So hubby and I tried an online class through Craftsy. So far over my head!

And so it goes. This week I will try to edit the pictures we transferred. So what's it going to be: Picmonkey? iPiccy? Foto Flex?

Does this technological world ever overwhelm you? Or is it just me?

  2. I feel that when I finally do master something then they "update" it the very next day and I must start over. :)

  3. I am with you. It takes me forever to try to figure anything out and in the meantime I get so frustrated I want to throw camera and computer out the window. Hang in there!

  7. Oh, and if a header gets cut off, you might need to widen your blog under Customization.

  8. Hi Mary! Well, your header looks pretty to me. I have a nice camera but don't know much of anything when it comes to all of the bells and whistles. I just know know why it has to be so complicated, do you? Yep, that Brenda is a whiz and she has helped me before. Thanks for popping in to see me.

  9. Technolog doesn't come easy to me either...somethings can tackle and other I pay for a designer to do and ask for details how to do it myself so I can make changes. Being on Wordpress I can't change things as easily as blogger/blogspot. Your header looks nice!

  10. PS...everything i learned about my Nikon has been on Youtube....I typically shoot in manual and I have found my photos greatly improved when I invested in lenses...ie. a micro lens for closeups which has made the world of difference.
