Autumn Light

What a busy two weeks we've had. At the last minute, we decided to end our homeschooling years and enroll our son as a sophomore in the local high school. Fortunately he was all for it. We rushed to the mall for school clothes - rushed to Staples for school supplies - and at last the big day came.

It's a big adjustment - changing classrooms, meeting new friends, learning the ways of new teachers - but he's handling it like a champ.

His favorite class is, of course, Photography. You've seem some of his pics on my blog so you can imagine how excited he is to take this class.

Meanwhile, at home ~

The first sign of autumn in our neighborhood is the way the light falls on this tree just across the street from us. One day you look out and there it is, transformed for fall.

Which, of course, inspires me to decorate for fall, even though the temps are still in the 90s.

I made this pumpkin in a ceramics class long ago. I saw similar ones in Michael's with flowers in them, but designing with flowers is not one of my gifts. Then I spotted a flower candle ring and had an aha moment - perfect!

P.S. The house in the picture is the one I grew up in many years ago - all great memories!

I'm enjoying visiting all of your fall decor - love the colors this time of year.

Please send a direct email to me so I can send you the email. There is a lot of information in it.
